Gamergate

This article explains the controversial events that took place last year involving female game developers being harassed for a variety of reasons and this even lead to death threats and a new vie on feminism in gaming and how the gaming community view females as a whole.  This interests me because for one I am a gamer an I have been since I was very young.  It is a passion of mine and when this story began to take traction I watched as it evolved into something I didn't like because it showed a community that I belonged to and love in the worst way possible because some of these members didn't agree and the community I loved suddenly became a monster that advocated violence towards others for things that really didn't need the response that was given. This event spawned a massive reformation of what image the community wants to give and how gaming journalism needed to change. This article was found at the Washington Post.

  1. Definitely a relevant and interesting controversy. Great thoughts, but be sure to proof-read your posts extra carefully for grammar and spelling before posting them.
